Duration of course:
6 Semesters spread over 3 years. The course shall consist of 29 modules comprising 28 theory papers in 6 semesters and one project in the last semester.

Eligibility:
A candidate to be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, shall have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (H.S.C.) examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate for Open Category and 40% marks for the Reserved Category candidates.
Candidates who have passed Diploma in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Technology / Information Technology / Electrical, Electronics & Video Engineering and Allied branches / Mechanical and Allied branches, Civil and Allied branches of Engineering after S.S.C. (Xth Std) are eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of the B.Sc.(I.T.) course. However, the Diploma should be recognized by the Board of Technical Education or any other recognized Government Body. Minimum marks required 45% aggregate for open merit and 40% aggregate for reserved Category candidates.
Candidates with post H.S.C. – Diploma in Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Technology / Information Technology and allied branches will be eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of B.Sc.(I.T.). However, the Diploma should be recognized by the Board of Technical Education or any other recognized Government Body. History of the Department:
The department was established in the academic year 2001-02.
Highlights:
The Andrean IT club – The department’s association – conducts various range of events among the IT students and inter faculty as well.
Academic Activities initiated for the current year 2010-2011:
- On 27th August 2010 the T.Y.B.Sc.-I.T. students presented different trendy topics in the field of I.T. like sixth sense , etc.,
- In the months of Dec’2010 and Jan’2011 the students from all classes of B.Sc.-I.T. visited organisations like I2IT and Volkswagen India Pvt.Ltd., Fiat India Automobiles Pvt. Ltd near Pune as a part of their Industrial Visit.
- In the month of Feb’2011 the department arranged seminars and workshops on topics like “Cloud Computing” , “TCP/IP Networking” by different computer organisations.
